    Default make it run

If you have an HEI distributor in it, put 12 volts from a good battery to the bat terminal, and then hook up the starter to a push button, make it turn over and it will run. to kill it just unhook the power to the distributor, sorry no pictures but its easy.

ooops also needs a ground. run a wire from the negative post on your battery to a MAIN bolt or stud on the engine block itself.

How about a regular distributor? Any wiring with the alternator?

what do you mean by regular distributor? chevy only had the HEI and points in their distributors on a carb motor. HEI have the coil on top of the distributor.
