96 yamaha kodiak burning oil?
iv got a 96 yamaha kodiak 400 4x4 i recently rebuilded the top end of the engine a couple months ago and it has been running great since but recently it has started smokeing alot after it has warmed up . when i first start it up it does not smoke after a minute or two it starts a little white smoke nothing unusual then after 5-10 minutes it starts to smoke alot and you definetly can smell the oil . and every time i use the atv it has to toped off with oil what could this be ? i havent been beating it up since the top end rebuild i use it only when it snows just to plow my small driveway thanks for any help !

what brand piston did you use I can almost bet a wisco??

when it smokes a lot is it still white?

no its pretty much blue im just going to have to rip the top end off again and see what it is this time i may have blown the head gasket i thought i saw it leaking .

I would say the rings didn't seat right during break-in. did you hone it or just put new rings in it?
I don't have ADHD. I just... ...OMG a bigblock.

yea i would have to say the rings to. thats hapened to my naboir he dint hone it and the rings dint set.

yeah i honed it im sure its the rings again lol great
