project charlie brown-
We are starting an engine swap this weekend. In the next week or two doing an axle swap, and a sye conversion. We will keep you posted. This link shows the truck we are doing it to. Any of your ideas would be great.

THe motor we are swapping in is a fresh 94 4 bolt roller motor, 52cc 305 heads(9.63to1) , mild rv cam , edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 600cfm carb. It shuold be a strong motor for daily driver/toy.

It is a slow process with little to no budget. but it is coming along , motor this weekend, axles next weekend, sye for the t-case after that. And after that still thinking about swapping 52'' rear springs into the front (same lift better ride and performance) Thanks for any input advice is always good !! Just remember it is a daily driver. LOL

Motor swap went well, but needs 98 octane to run good without detenation. So I was out testing the motor and managed to crack the 700r4 case in two spots(opps)in the bellhousing next to the pump. The new motor rips for what it is, and I found my new weak link !!! Now putting off axle swap to do a trans swap. We will see if an sm465 4spd and np 205 will hold up. Any one else ever broke a 700r4 case ?

CB ( Charlie Brown ) Just a Guess :D
If your are runnin a stick and that motor is as healthy as you say through a rev limiter in it that has been my curse with runnin a stick cause ya dont want to shift in the mud or even if you are on the street and miss a shift they overrev quite quickly had a low rider with a stick and that up and over shift gets kinda tricky lol

update ... finally changed out the drag link and tie rod ends last week ( with new parts even !!! ) and changed the leaking intake gasket... no more oil leak. The trip to milaca and back was yet another test , and it passed. We got a little better milage this time 9.5 mpg beats 7.37 mpg , well atleast with the TBI 454 and 4l80 I should be able to get 10 mpg !!! LOL

598259815980 I used stock 1/2 ton brake brackets and just cut the ears off, the inside taper of the bracket is perfect fit to the taper of the 14 bolt housing it leaves a nice gap for welding. By the way the 1/2 ton brackets use the same overall hole location as the 3/4 ton's.

04-22-2010, 05:17 PM
what transfer case are you going to run? Either a devorced np 205 or a married np241, but lean towards the 205 because I have one. Although the low range of the 241 would be great !!!

i like the low range in my 208. and it's been strong enough for me if you trail ride you would want a skid plate they don't really hold up well to rocks

No,just not much room, it never flexed before the axle swap because it still had the sway bar on it. Going to do some trimming today !! I geuss it depends on which way it flexs cause it touches front and back. 62946295
