1996 grand cherokee

hey guys its been awhile! i am gonna start building a 96 grand cherokee mainly to do trails and medium mud...but also drive it on the street. my uncle is gonna pay for all of it so i just would like to hear your input.

Sounds like a great uncle you've got there!

When you lift it, be sure to get the long-arm lift, they work a lot better on the trails than the short arm kits. I saw some ZJ's at dresser with 35-37" tires, looks pretty bada$$.

I would also suggest making some front and rear bumpers to replace all that squishy plastic.

Wither you have the 4.0, 5.2, or even the 5.9, they'll all do fine on the trails.

If you're going to be doing primarily trails, I wouldn't go with any more aggressive of a tire than a BFG M/T.

i would add a wench in the front at least and lockers would be nice it all depends how deep your uncles pockets are.

6-8 long arm, 35 or so mud terrain, selectable lockers front and rear, heavier diffs front and rear, d44 probably solid steel bumpers with good pull points, roof basket for extras, cheange your gearing in the diffs, winch on front, high lift jack, shovel mounts....all the fun stuff you will need for trails, extra running lights....

Did they stop making grands with lo-gear, or they are ALL TIME 4x4 without selection anymore... I had a grand cherokee last week as loaner, and though it was 2wd, but when I checked the badge it said 4x4.. are they full time 4x4 by default now?

all the stuff they said but also think hi amp alternator msd makes a bad @ss one. and good optima battery to run all them lights and winch,your sure to get also ask your uncle if i can have some cash too. lol
