i dont care. Im putting true duals on my 88. Shorty headers through o2 sensor then putting piping right through cats then have 2 hi flow turbo mufflers. Cats can be old, wore or hallowed. Just so it looks like a cat. covertor from the outside!

Looking to do 3" piping. Nothing smaller then 2.50 inlet/outlets.

thanks,
Josh

What do you need the cat for? We don't have emissions anymore.

Yeah, its just visual isnt it?:p Really dont feel like paying the big fines just because officer doesnt see a cat. I wouldnt want to be in that position where officer is looking under my truck anyways. Kinda hard to get a straight pipe sound with only super turbo mufflers:D Makes it easier if i ever want to sell the truck too.... I'm gonna have the shop clamp my mufflers on, just in case i dont get the sound im expecting. Could always make mufflers with pipes through em:rolleyes:

Well, hell, if they can hear you a mile away, I'd be checking too. I got a cat, single glasspack to a split side exit. Plenty loud for me. My buddy has a Z71 with cats and straight pipes, that thing was freaking loud. Too loud for me and the kids.

Come on, someone on here has to have 1 or 2 layin around. The junkyards wont give them to me...its illegal for them to sell used cats...

no not really, they just tell you that because a "good: used cat is worth $30-$100 because they have platium (how ever you spell it) inside them. and if they hallow one out it basicly drops the value and they cant sell the stuff out of them.

just break out the ceramic part inside of the cat you don't have to run a pipe all of the way through it. your not really going to gain any noticable horsepower out of this , or from removing the cat alltogether . remember you do need some backpressure on your exhaust or you will burn up your valves and then your moter will burn oil. if you do remove or gut your cat keep some kind of muffler wether it is a glasspack or a turbo muffler and you should be fine
