I was talking to a guy at work, he is a mechanic that we rebuild thier alt and starters for at his shop, he said that he fills half his tank up with used motor oil then the rest with diesel. he has a 00 super duty and he's been doing it for two years now. He told me that nothing bad has happen to the engine. it still runs great and gets that same amount of mileage if he would run just diesel. he says he has to change his fuel filter out about 4 times a year. Iam wounder if anyone has heard of this?

ah i wouldnt do that but of course thats jist me. id run the oil thrugh a lots of filters before it even touches my engen. id think ud have to have a heater to thin out the oil to make it usable. they have kits which consist of jist a heater core and hoses run into a seprit tank for running on 100% vegy oil once warmed up.

I've read a lot about this on a diesel forum and there are guys that do it but I'd rather not put old oil through my expensive motor. I can see adding a little new oil to increase the lubrication but I don't like the idea of used oil.

maybe with a good filteration system you could clean it?
