What does everyone use for oil in their daily drivers? I've been using Mobil1 for some time, but someone recently told me that it's not a pure synthetic... that it uses a crude oil base. He also told me that if I want a full synthetic, you need to use something like Amsoil.

I've always had good luck with Mobil1, so I'm not that worried about it, but I'm just curious.

I use Valvoline high mileage in my Bronco and Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Blend in my SHO.

Sounds to me like that guy is selling Amsoil. I've heard nothing but praise about Mobil1. I'd run that if I had a newer car worth putting it in.

Amsoil is a very good oil and so is Mobile1. I use and I know alot of people that use Mobile1 and have nothing but good results from it. Where I work in the summer time running outboards we run Amsoil in out outboards and we have attributed that to the extended life we've been getting out of the 4-stroke power heads.

The only thing about synthetic that is kind of a pain in the ass is the first oil change can be kind of spending with flushing the engine and all, and then the oil is just a bit more expensive also but with not having to change it as often should offset that.

I use valvoline. Never any problems... We'll know if I ever tear apart this motor I guess.
