Didn't get to go this year for rifle. I still got my bow tag though, so I might ride along with my dad when he goes up for muzzleloader. Went to the Camp Ripley hunt, saw a few, but no bucks and nothing close enough to shoot.

ha, muzzleloader is fun, old school but with the gun my dad just picked up, its like using a pump shotgun, he can load that thing in 3 sec's its pretty sad
so 89orion you bow hunt much?

I almost got a really nice looking BIG buck last night.... with my car. :(

I always find the deer when I am out working cattle on the farm, but they are never there when I want to go hunt for them.

This is my second year bowhunting. I don't have a spot to bow hunt yet, so I've only done it at Camp Ripley thus far. Where we rifle hunt we share it with a bow hunting group, so we try to stay out of eachother's way.

neways today i was on the way to dellwood, and i saw a HUGE i mean it was massive buck running right up the ditch of 65, at 1:30 durring the day(just south of the UHAUL/denny hecker used auto connection there) good thing i have good ethics, i coulda shot him/bow'd him no problem i had both things in my back seat! i rather get the 14 pt buck the ladie say's is running around her property.

i got a question for you hunters, i would like to go hunting with my dad, or with my uncle and i wanted to know if i still had to go through firearm saftey classes or if i dont when i turn 18, ive heard both that i do have to go through it and ive heard i dont have to but no one seemed confident they were just guessing. just wondering if anyone actually knew the rule about that

i think you do need to complete hunters saftey first, but one for sure way is to apply for your back tag and see. if you get well no but if you cant then yeah, but its not a bad thing to have either

i personally think no matter what, EVERYONE should have there firearm saftey, but then again, i think that most girls should drive so o well.

tonkatoy your very lucky, my buddy has 3.4acers up there(not enough to hunt argh!) but i can go there and watch 8-10 pt bucks all day long, its sick. now i just gotta find someone that is willing to let me bow hunt there land over there!

I just wish I could find something close by. We hunt up by Brainerd, and I am not running up there every weekend I want to hunt.
