i got a cheap deal localy so i decided to go for em, procomp xterrains, good for my first 35's. now its time to get a bit bigger and build up my drivetrain and drop in the 302:D

Bored at the end of the day at work and had my cam. just some pics using it as a material hauler back and forth from the buildings, and some mess'n around on the terrain.

those 2x12's were so heavy, all wet and shiat, no way i was gona carry em around when i got the truck there
tested my flex again, found how fricken close the rear is lol...the front rubs at turn and hitting bumps, i noticed afater rolling over some stuff fast, so inner fender will have to be taken out, and i'll have to trim the inner fender at the rear a bit maybe.
found a little hill to climb...

i took a video of it with my camera, its not the DV camera so its kinda crapy

they dont rub at all really, never up front, and only at full flex in the rear, but for now its fine till i get up higher

Those tires really make the truck look more aggressive!

I had those exact tires on my 98 Chev with a 6" lift. I loved them, but they wore fast. I only got a little over a year out of them!

Time to update your sig!

Holy crap thats a big project you have going there!

07-11-2007, 07:17 AM
Awesome! You're gonna like that 302.

Did you have to get different driveshafts for the Expedition transfer case? I've heard you need them when converting that on the Explorers, not sure on the Rangers.

Awesome project! Those explorer 5.0. have Gt40 heads on them. They put out a little more kick than my 95 5.0. in my bronco. How did you handle the electrical with the engine and drivetrain. That looks like alot of work.

Looks like your half way there.

thanks for the comments guys. yeah im geting new front and rear shafts, no biggie. also i have to get it over to the nearest exhaust shop and get a system made when its done soon.

i believe the explorers have the gt40p heads, which are slightly better in some way i cant remember exactly, ports might be bigger?

Those tires don't look new anymore:D :D :D

Nice job on the truck!

07-11-2007, 11:36 PM

I believe it is port size, valve size and the air flow through them is superior to E7TE heads on a non-gt-40 5.0.

Wow! That is awesome - love the Ranger setup! Looks waaay easier if you pull the cab off to do the swap - nice work!
