and took a toll...

We went to a local mud hole today, river backwaters. It just cleared up less then a week, and there was only one open area we could go, the rest was flooded. We did manage to have a little fun before this mud hole took my truck in.

This was some REAL slippery sand/mud...riverbottom. It would stop me even on flat land. I was taking a big turn, and it slowly started slipping me into a small swamp area. I managed to stop, but because i stopped i was not able to back up. I decided to go forward which I thought was only 1/2-1 foot of water. Well on the drivers side of this water was a big hole and i slipped right into it.

I dont want to embarass brian quite yet, but if he wants to tell how retarded he was, he can add:D

Finally brians truck started and we started pulling and REALLY tugging. Tugged so much we ripped brians tack welded bumper off, shearing a big bolt right in half. Not able to find anywhere else to hook to, it was time to start calling some buddies. Brians rig did manage to pull me out of a DEEP hole for that truck.

a DODGE DAKOTA, i repeat a ****ing dodge dakota pulled me the rest of the way out...i guess i was pretty damn lucky to get this sucker out tonight.

My buddy, with an 87 f150, 3" body on 33's got stuck in the same hole, and they needed a crane to hoist his truck out:bat:

heres some picture to laugh at and see how bad of position it was

Awsome pictures! It's good to see people starting to get out there and having fun!

It seems like it's getting close to the end of the Spring rebuild season, and turning into MUDDING SEASON!

haha yeah a chain. Josh is lucky the chain didn't hit him although a strap probably would have.

yeah, took us a while, my damn tank switch got knocked around when we were rippin it up, so we sat there cause it wouldn't start, whats weird is it ran for a while on the rear, the guage still showed it had 1/4 tank of gas (i did check the guage), but i wouldn't start, switched her back into front and she ran like a champ, first little fun since i got her done (done for now). I did rip the shi* out of that mud hole though, didn't even struggle. Can't wait to get back home and get done fabbin up some real bumpers, hook points, and hitch. Still am pretty suprised we SHEARED a 1/2 in bolt from my bumper in half. It was damn fun though.
