actic cat 250 2x4 not charging

i have a 2000 arctic cat with the 250 and when i got it ithe battery was toast so i bought a new when charged it up and put it in. everything worked fine used it all weekend then it sat for about 3 days and it wouldnt start with the e start and wouldn't run with the pull start so i charged the battery and then after it sat agian i had the same problem so what keeps the battery charged? the last atv i worked on was a 1982 honda atc so i dont know much about newer stuff

Any luck with this? Have you check for a draw? What's all on it for electrial? Also did have you checked what the voltage is when it is runing?

The stator is what charges so if you can't find a bad wire or ground it more than likely the stator took a ****
not 100% sure.

I picked up another new battery and it worked fine for awhile but now it cuts out at anything above half throttle or when there is a load on the engine. it smokes and loads up with fuel. so what controls the spark? is it a coil?

well before the coil is the cdi unit, before that is the stator. it sounds like its the stator being your problem. get a shop manal for it, they have test prcedures for all the electrical components. at least all the ones i have do....
