Spider Lake is under 3 hours, depending on how fast you drive. But you'd need a DNR ORV tag ($39 for 3 years). Only place I know of other than the St. Boni meet that's coming up at the end of April.

Fairly mild to moderate, but I don't think I even hit half of the trails that weekend. Definitely some challenging spots there, and a smaller vehicle would do better than my beast (lots of 3+ point turns on a few trails). Also, remember that it is in the Foothills State Forest. Tons of logging roads to get lost on as well!!

yea i think i might do a camping trip there with a few buddys, drive to a few different sites, and go out on the trail all day and mess around, or go stay at my cabin near deer river on Bowstring lake

I really want to try some camping off the trails this summer! Load up the wheelers (or trucks) and head out for the whole weekend. That sounds like a blast to me!

Right now a new bonding bill was introduced to the state, they dont know when or if the park will open but when the bill does come up emails will need to be sent to representatives by people want an offroad park. The park will be run by the DNR but not much else is decided or known at this point but it will be near Rollingstone.
