View Full Version : Trouble with trouble lights

On thursday the auto repair shop I work at went up in flames and I'm currently out of a job untill they rebuild the shop. We were replaceing a fuel pump and it was full the gas started to spill and while trying to contain the gas spill a trouble light fell and the bulb exploded. Me and my boss were tits high in flames instantly. We went back in and tried to put it out with extinguishers and it would go out we stayed in there until we could see/breath because of black smoke. The we went out side and waited for the trucks. I really don't think we will be useing that kind of lights anymore.

Wow! That really sucks!
Most importantly, Are you OK?
How big of a shop was this? Is it a total loss? How many cars were lost? Got any pictures? Maybe a slightly singed car lift for sale cheap?

Total loss includes:
3 Bay shop
2002 yukon XL
2002 dodge ram quad cab
2002 grand caravan
all shop equiptment tire machine, hoist ect.
If hoist is OK it's going to the bosses house. My personal tools about 22,000$ and I think of somthing new thats missing all the time.
I'll have the video from a passer by if he really comes back with a copy for me.
Every one is O.K.
I won't have a job for acouple months but I'm headed to florida on friday.
I'll try and find some sand to stick the old Duty in for some pics.

Let me guess, The fuel pump was being done on the 02 Ykon XL. They go out all the time.
Sorry about the loss.
I use a florecent trouble light in my home garage/shop.

That sucks. You should put the hoist up for auction on this web site. I'll start the bidding at $5
